				     		     	<description><![CDATA[<!--PSTYLE=WINT Web Intro--><p>THE region&#8217;s largest social landlord has appointed two new executive directors to its board.</p><!--PSTYLE=WBDY Web Bodytext--><p>The Selkirk-based Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA), which has 5,500 rented properties, has appointed Alan Vass and Maria Lyle as its directors of technical services and housing services respectively after what it describes as a rigorous and demanding interview process.</p><p>Mr Vass joined SBHA in December 2010, bringing experience of working at senior management level on property management within the social housing sector.</p><p>As well as overseeing SBHA&#8217;s repairs and maintenance service, he will take forward regeneration and improvement programmes, plus new building.&#160; </p><p>Mrs Lyle, housing co-ordinator and housing manager since joining SBHA in 2005, will be responsible for the management and delivery of all housing management and related services to tenants and other customers.</p><p>Association chairman Ray Licence commented: &#8220;Both have exceptionally-strong track records. The housing sector faces significant future challenges, and we are confident both will play a significant role helping to take the association to the next stage in its development.&#8221;</p>]]></description>
