Body found in Ettrick Water near Selkirk

A MAN’S body has been recovered from the Ettrick Water on the outskirts of Selkirk, writes Bob Burgess.

Police were alerted about 11.40 this morning when the man was spotted in the river close to Murray’s Cauld.

The body was brought to the embankment three hours later by members of the underwater search team from the Borders Search and Rescue Unit.

Repair work has been taking place at the cauld but Lothian and Borders Police say there is no indication there is a connection.

There have been no reports of missing persons in the area and police enquiries are ongoing.
