Many thanks

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Selkirk, I would like to thank all those who took the time to attend our charities bazaar at the Victoria Halls during Scott’s Selkirk. More than £3,000 was raised between the 21 different local and national charities in attendance, including our own club.

This is a tremendous figure and will go a long way to helping those in need of additional help. The generosity of our local community remains alive, despite the difficult times we all find ourselves in, and for that, we are all very grateful.

Doug Forsyth

Rotary President

I would like to express my thanks to everybody who attended the St John’s coffee morning on November 17.

The event was extremely successful, with all stalls being well supported. The cake raffle was won by Margaret Cowan and the morning raised £675 for church funds.

Thank you so much to all who came along and we hope to see you again at our summer coffee morning.

Brian Riley

St John’s Church

On behalf of the Selkirk Christmas Illumination Group I would like to thank all the people who came along to our coffee morning to help raise funds to go towards purchasing new lights for the town at Christmas.

Also thanks go to Elliot Henderson, Allied Storage, The County Hotel and City Electrical Factors. We would like to thank the local primary schools who took part in a competition to design a new light, which was won by Kerys McGlasson from Knowepark Primary, whose light has been made and is at the entrance to the car park off the square. The committee hope that the new lights that have been bought will meet the approval of the people of Selkirk.

Bobby Clyne

Chairman, Selkirk Christmas Illumination Group.

Granny’s Den would like to thank Louise of the Selkirk Deli for providing, free of charge, the use of her premises on two Sunday afternoons so that local children were able to learn about, and make, jewellery, and for providing hot chocolate drinks.
