Town needs full-time traffic warden

The A7 passes through your town – or weren’t you aware of it?

When you leave this road to either go down The Green or High Street, you are supposed to, by law, indicate that you are exiting a major road. I find it most frustrating when a considerable number of drivers fail to indicate that they are either going along High Street or down The Green, leaving drivers waiting to come on to the A7 with rising blood pressure.

Also, why do drivers turn right at the foot of Tower Street when they could easily go down Back Row, thereby avoiding traffic congestion at the foot of Tower Street?

Finally, drivers, especially on a Saturday morning, think they have a God-given right to park on the left-hand side of High Street – which is illegal – because they cannot get parked on the other side, thereby causing monumental traffic jams.

Time we had a full-time traffic warden to bring a bit of sanity to the town.
