Rowland’s director search
ROWLAND’S is searching for three new directors to join its governing board, writes Kenny Paterson.
The charity requires the new trustees as Eileen Easton and Stacey Grieve are set to stand down at next month’s AGM due to work commitments.
Eileen, wife of chairperson Graham Easton, has been on the board since Rowland’s inception five years ago, while Stacey became a trustee after attending the West Port facility as a young person.
A spokesman for Rowlands said no qualifications are required for the posts, but any new board members would have to champion young people in Selkirk and the surrounding area, as well as agree, monitor and review Rowland’s strategy, practices and policies.
The person would need to help recruit staff when needed and share the common purpose and enthusiasm of Rowland’s work.
Anyone seeking further information can phone Rowland’s on 21222, Graham Easton on 07785 274226 or email rowlands.sdba@googlemail.com.
The charity’s AGM takes place on Thursday, November 8, at 7pm.
Julie Smith of Rowland’s said: “As well as the AGM, there will be a chance to view some of the inspirational work and projects that have successfully been completed by our young people over the last year. In addition, there will be a chance to chat informally to our board members, staff, volunteers and young people.”
