Take note – the sound of music has returned to Jedburgh.

Jedforest International Band members hadn’t played together since March of last year, when they’d performed at the Scottish championships in Perth

But the band, which first formed 160-plus years ago, reconvened recently for its first physical rehearsal of 2021 at the the town’s old Mission Hall.

Band president David Lightbody said: “We’ve done zoom and a few virtual videos. It was good to catch up with people and speak face to face rather than over a computer screen.”

The plan is now to rehearse twice a week, Thursday and Sunday, and work towards a few events before the end of the year.
