WINTRY weather may have been getting people down, but Selkirk Amateur Operatic Society has the answer – find a brolly, wrap up well and and go Singing in the Rain.
Members are busy preparing for their February production of Singing in the Rain which runs from Tuesday, February 26, to Saturday, March 1.

This is the first time the company has tackled this musical, feeling that the time is now right to bring this energetic show to the Victoria Halls.

Songs such as Good Mornin', Make 'em Laugh, Moses Supposes, Fit as a Fiddle and, of course, the title song should ensure big audiences for the week. The spectacular tap routines promise to have spectators' toes tapping along.

Each production undertaken costs in the region of £15,000 to stage – support from the Selkirk public is therefore vital.

A spokeswoman said: "If you haven't been before, or, if you haven't been for a while, this is definitely the show to lure you back."

Tickets will reach McCuddens Newsagents on Thursday – alternatively, call Lorraine Kemp on 01750 22906 or contact any company member to arrange for tickets.
