A highlight just over the border

HIGHLIGHTS Touring Scheme hosts 23 performances by 15 different shows in 15 village halls across Northumberland.

The spring season features a wide ranging programme of theatre, music, comedy, storytelling, and children’s shows.

Shows in the Berwick area transport audiences from the ordinary to the extraordinary with witty, charming and moving plays about gardening, elephants and darts.

The music menu offers up an eclectic mix of global styles – from regional favourites The New Rope String Band to Denmark’s acclaimed Harald Haugaard Trio – and the season draws to a close in June with this year’s Contemporary Craft Tour, Miniature Worlds.

Central to the scheme is the partnership with a network of mostly volunteer promoters who bring their time, energy and enthusiasm to promote and host events for the enjoyment of their communities.
