Christmas carols at The Haining

THE Haining is hosting an evening of Christmas carols and fireside readings in the Georgian mansion’s drawing room, at 7.30pm on Friday, December 14.

Haining volunteer John Nichol commented: “Only a limited number of tickets are available because of the restricted space in the Drawing Room, which will no doubt create a cosy intimacy.”

Members of Selkirk Silver Band and invited singers will lead the carolling before a cheerful log fire, and Katherine Fish and John will narrate some selected Christmas readings. The hour-long programme will be followed by mulled wine and mince pies.

This is be a ticket-only evening, contrary to advertising elsewhere of free admission.

Tickets are available from the Scott’s Selkirk shop in the Market Place – adults £4, children £1.
