COMMUNITY councillors have supported in principle plans to turn the old Salvation Army citadel into a house.

Applicant Dan Simmonds of Ettrickbridge submitted his plans for the Scott’s Close building last month.

Council chairman Graham Easton said: “It is a building that has been empty for a number of years. It is a lump of concrete, but the fact it is to be used again is beneficial.”
