A Borders choir is no longer just a virtual reality after members united in person for the first time in 16 months.

The Lauderdale Community Choir rehearsed for the first time since the imposition of Covid restrictions at the Woodside Garden Centre in Ancrum last Thursday, June 10. The mixed voice choir is led by musical director James Robertson.

Choir member Emma Emmerson, owner of Woodside Plant Centre and Birdhouse Tearoom, said it was great to be united in song again, adding: “We have been practicing for the last 15 month by podcasts and zoom rehearsals and last Thursday night was our first ‘in person’ session since the 12th of March last year.”
