Child protection update

THE Borders’ online multi-agency child protection procedures are now fully up to date.

It is hoped anyone who has contact with children in either a professional or voluntary capacity will find the procedures easier to navigate and more detailed than the previous version.

Alan Blackie, chair of the Scottish Borders Child Protection Committee, said: “If you see or hear something which leaves you feeling uncomfortable about the safety or wellbeing of a child, this is the time to speak to someone who can do something about it.

“The procedures will help you find the right person to talk to.”

Additional guidance has been added to the new system and practitioners are advised to familiarise themselves with the new look and contents. The 2012 procedures are accessible at www.online-procedures.co.uk/scottishborders.
