34-year-old fined £200 over assault in Hawick and ordered to pay £75 compensation to victim
A 34-year-old man has been fined £200 after being convicted of assault following a trial at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Paul Holmes, of Trinity Street in Hawick, repeatedly pushed his victim to the body, causing him to fall to the ground, the court heard.
That assault was committed in Wellfield Road in Hawick on December 18 last year.
Holmes had denied that allegation but was found guilty after trial.
In addition to being fined, he was ordered to pay £75 compensation to his victim.
