Walk the Field of Hope

A MILESTONE will be reached in April when this year’s Daffodil Walk, organised by Marie Curie Cancer Care, takes place at the Borders General Hospital.

It is 20 years since Anne Macintyre and her volunteers planted the first flowers to create the amazing Field of Hope.

The April 7 event features the traditional two-mile route along the Field of Hope and, as last year, a 10k walk. The Field of Hope walk will once again be led Jedburgh British Legion Pipe Band.

The longer walk – established with the assistance of the Melrose Paths Group – takes in Abbotsford and Lowood before finishing along the Field of Hope. Numbers are limited and £10 pre-registration is required by March 31. Registration isn’t required for the shorter walk and donation buckets will be provided.

Both walks start at the hospital – the 10k at 1am and the Field of Hope at 2pm.
