Band aims to blow them away

SELKIRK Silver Band faces a challenge tomorrow when it competes in the 2010 Scottish Brass Band Championships at Glenrothes.

For the past few months the band has been practising hard on its competition piece, Kingdom of Dragons.

Under the guidance of conductor Mark Bell and bandmaster Colin Kemp, the band hopes to perform commendably against second-section brass bands from Scotland.

The band was disappointed with its championship results last year but hopes to build on the win at Brass in the Park in September.

All band members are optimistic of a good performance tomorrow.
