December's rabbit season

December's rabbit season

SELKIRK's favourite band Frightened Rabbit have sold out legendary Glasgow music venue the Barrowland Ballroom for their December 3 gig.

And due to demand, the 1,900 capacity hall in the east end of Scotland's largest city will host a second show by the Borders' most successful group on December 6.

Their two appearances at the famous ballroom, which has been voted the best UK music venue by British bands, will cap a memorable year for the quintet fronted by Scott Hutchison.

Last month they played a rousing set to a packed King Tut's Tent at T in the Park, which the band named as their own best ever gig, and they are set to perform at the V Festival next weekend.

They then head back to the US, having already toured Stateside this year in support of their album The Winter of Mixed Drinks.

And Frightened Rabbit then return to the UK for another tour, including a date at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire, capped off by a performance at Dublin's Academy venue on December 9.
