WRI: Due to illness, the speaker was unable to attend, so members discussed the upcoming federation show and the recipe for the federation competition (three gypsy creams) given out. Margaret Milne had set a short quiz for the members which had their brains working overtime. Competition – evening bag – 1, E. Douglas; 2, M. Milne; 3, E. Scott. Raffle – V. Mayo, M. Mabon, M. Milne, K. Watson.

Yarrowford

WRI: The annual whist drive was held in Yarrowford Hall. Ladies – 1, Marion Findlay; 2, Jean Turner; 3, Nancy Hamilton; consolation, Georgie Richardson. Gents – 1, Selby Wilson; 2, Jenny Oldfield; 3, Ella Gardiner; consolation, John McClymont. The hostess prize was won by Evelyn Horsburgh.
