Coffee Morning: The February sale in aid of Village Hall funds is on Saturday, 10am-noon. Anyone with anything to sell, turn up, take a table, and make a donation to the Hall.

Social evening: On February 16, the village hall committee is running a social evening in the form of a 70s-80s disco in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Tickets, £6, including a stovies supper, are available from Linda on 01750 52257. There will be a bar and raffle. Donations for the raffle can be handed in to any committee member.

Hall dinner: Tickets are on sale for the annual hall dinner on March 2. The speakers are Billy Young from Langholm and Sheriff Kevin Drummond with Tommy Knox, Jimmy Gibb and Henry Douglas providing the music. Tickets, £18.50, including three-course meal, are available from Linda on 01750 52257.

CAMERA CLUB: Last week Bert Lancaster judged the club competition on architecture. Results – Digitally projected images:1 G. Northey, 2 M. Reynolds, 3 M. Reynolds; Colour prints:1 M. McKinney, 2 E. Nichol, 3 B. Johnstone; Mono prints: 1 M. McKinney, 2 M. McKinney, 3 J. Anderson. The theme for the president’s competition on February 6 is animals.

Monday Club: At 2pm on February 4 at St Joseph’s church hall, Julian Colton will give a talk and read his poetry. All welcome.
