Bowhill’s Great Upheaval

Have your say

Bowhill House and Country Estate plan a month packed with activities and events for all the family this June.

The fun begins on June 20, with a woodland storytelling activity, when children can visit the Estate for a story in the woods – a reading of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, followed by some woodland crafts. Places at the event cost £2 per person, which is payable at the Estate shop.

Then on June 21 and 22, take a trip back in time with The Great Upheaval to discover how and why Bowhill became the main family residence instead of Dalkeith Palace 100 years ago. Prices to join The Great Upheaval are £10 per adult.

Finally, to round off the month, Bowhill is calling all green fingered gardeners out there to take part in the Horticultural Homecoming event on June 25 and 29 from 2pm – 4pm. Visitors can join a guided short walk around the estate and learn about the different use of native plants followed by a workshop to encourage all keen gardeners to grow some native species in their own garden. Places cost £8 per person.
