There will be some strange lights in the woods around Bowhill tonight and tomorrow as fairytales come to life in two evening events.
The Dark Wood event returns this year, with night-time walks running from 6pm tonight and tomorrow, and a storyteller revealing the secrets of the woods.
Helen Currie, house and events manager at Bowhill said: “This event is one of the highlights in our annual calendar as it is such a favourite with families of all ages and so many people coming together to participate.
“Producers of the woodland show, Vision Mechanics, do a magnificent job in bringing it all together and you can rest assured you will never look at the woods in the same way again.”
Helen added: “It is a magical experience that, regardless of the weather, illuminates imaginations and for one weekend only, turns fantasy into reality that can be viewed before your very eyes.”
A number of community groups, including a group of more than 60 Girl Guides, have been working hard to make pieces of art in the forest and during the Dark Wood event, their efforts will come to life with lights and music.
Each guided performance, which will last 45 minutes, will set off approximately every 20 minutes between 6pm and 8pm. For tickets visit www.bowhill.org
Following its appearance at Bowhill, the production will move up to Glentress, near Peebles, on Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26.
