A project aiming to make the town a better place for business was officially launched this week.
And the search is on for a project manager to take the Selkirk BIDS (Business Improvement District Scotland) process forward.
Building on a community action plan created last year, a local steering group was established and funding secured for the position.
The successful applicant will consult with local firms on the creation of a business plan, setting out the action required to improve business in the town.
Ian Main, director of accountants Stark Main & Co, is a member of the steering group, which is seeking new members and input on the focus of the business plan.
He said: “I am delighted to be involved with the steering group and we are actively recruiting for a high-quality project manager to take this exploration project forward.
“We will endeavour to meet and consult with all the businesses in the town over the next 12 months to gather thoughts on how we could best improve the town to become a better place for business. I look forward to the positive impact this project potentially has for our businesses.”
