YARROW farmer Steve Renwick is checks over some Texel ewes ahead of tomorrow's main day at this year's Border Union Show, writes Mark Entwistle.
The show, at Kelso’s Springwood Park, is expected to attract thousands of visitors over the two days, starting today, and then on Saturday.
The majority of classes today are for equine entries, while Steve and his fellow sheep farmers will be putting their prized animals up for judging tomorrow.
Last year, Steve, who runs 20 Texel ewes and 1,000 blackface ewes at Craig Douglas in the Yarrow Valley, took the reserve interbreed sheep championship at Kelso with a Texel ewe.
