Published Date: 15 August 2008
IN HONOUR of the men of Selkirk who walked to Flodden, the Flodden 500 committee has decided to hold a sponsored walk each year between now and 2013.
The first leg will be held on Sunday, September 14, and will start in the Pringle Park at approximately 10am, finishing at St Boswells cricket ground.

Part of the walk will follow the Abbey Way, covering a distance of approximately nine miles.

The walk is open to all ages, but the committee requests that any children under the age of 14 should be accompanied by an adult.

There will be refreshments provided along the way and the event will be marshalled by committee members. Qualified first aiders will also be in attendance. Sponsor sheets for this event are now available for anyone who wishes to participate.

It is hoped that as many members as possible will take part in the event.

z The committee has so far raised £1,500 towards its target of £80,000.

z Membership fees are due for renewal on December 1.
