Despite the weather playing havoc with other sporting fixtures over the weekend, Borders Triathlon Club enjoyed warm weather in Selkirk on Sunday for the second of the BSLT series.
Good numbers turned out for the event with 11 of the 13 Border club competitors completing the race, which included a 750m swim, 20k cycle and 5k run, starting at Selkirk swimming pool.

Brian Nicol and Paul McGreal battled it out to be the first member over the finish line – and it was Brian who had the edge, finishing in 10th place in 1:06·27, closely followed by Paul in 1:07·03.

Nick Jupp continues to improve with each competition, this time coming in 29th with a time of 1:11·01.

Charlie Roberts was the only prizewinner for the club, taking 1st Male SV, finishing 37th in 1:14·01.

William Murdoch avoided mechanical difficulties on the bike, this time taking 40th position (1:15·03), while Suzanne Mercer was first lady member home in 56th place (1:17·58).

Other members finishing were Jonny Rutherford, Jackie Law, Toby Vint, Katrona Methven, Diane Ford and Jenell Robertson.

The club hopes for a good turnout at Tweedbank for the first duathlon of the season on Sunday.
