SCORING on the Hill was generally as high as the wind in the April Medal and Brown Cup competition last weekend.
There were two golfers, however, who defied the conditions to record excellent net 66s – Andy Pickersgill and Callum Marshall. Andy won first prize by virtue of a better inward half.

Golfers also had to contend with the trickiness of the putting surfaces, although greenkeeper Gordon McGregor showed how it should be done by sinking a 28-yard putt on the third. Shame it was for a 14.

Results: 1, A. Pickersgill, net 66; 2, C. Marshall 66; 3, R. G. Douglas 69; 4 equal, M. Wood, G. I. Scott and A. Webster 71.

Twos: J. R. Cooper, J. Easson, N. W. Purves, D. Reid, R. Roberts and M. Wood.

Ladies

A large turnout took to The Hill on Monday night as the ladies introduced a new format in the shape of a Texas Scramble.

The ladies were divided into teams of three with some very impressive scoring being recorded.

The winning team with a mind boggling 68 (3.7) 64.3 was Pat McGhee, Martine Pow and Anne Allan. They were also the only ones to have a two.
