SELKIRK BC

IN the Anniversary Cup pairs, there was an all-Selkirk final in which the pairing of C. McKinnon and I. Borthwick defeated S. Hislop and J. Jackson.

Last Sunday an open triples competition, sponsored by Greens Ltd, was pla
yed. In the final C. McKinnon, I. Borthwick and J. Dickson overcame D. Macleod, D. Pringle and T. Heatlie by a point.

The ladies' open pairs was held on Saturday when H. Scott and E. Clapperton defeated M. Smith and M. Inglis in a closely contested final.

The ladies would like to thank everyone who donated food and prizes for the tournament.

PUB LEAGUE

THREE weeks to go and still anything could happen in the scintillating spectacular that is the Selkirk Pub League.

Last week the supporter was on the edge of his seat as joint leaders Masons and Town Arms pulled out all the stops to thrash their respective opponents. This week he is apt to fall off it all together as the two big guns go head-to-head in what is likely to be the battle of the summer.

Organisers are confident that the crowd will double tonight and have ordered an extra hot dog and roll just in case.

Week four results: Town Arms 15 Ex-Standard Bearers 4; Merchant Company 2 Masons 21; Southern Reporter 6 Tory Club 17; Fleece 7 Babychams 11.
