DESPITE last weekend's devastating defeat at Malleny Park, Selkirk have retained their third spot in Premier One.
And, having targeted two wins out of three in their run of three successive away fixtures, all is not doom and gloom at Philiphaugh.
Tomorrow the team will attempt to keep up their impressive home run when Glasgow Hawks pay a visit and assistant coach Michael Jaffray is confident his team can pick up where they left off on the home front.
"We have to target these games but we also have to work hard for them," he told The Wee Paper.
"You can't take any of these teams lightly as everyone is beating everyone else in division one at the moment and you can't take anything for granted.
"The guys were obviously hurting after last week and that's a good thing in a way as it shows they really want to win.
"We played well for most of the game but I think we maybe tried too hard to get the try for a bonus point and lost our focus a wee bit.
"We are expecting a tough game tomorrow but are glad to be playing back at home again and hopefully with a good home support we can get back to winning ways."
Away from the pitch the Philiphaugh club have received three applications for the post of full-time development officer which was vacated recently by Ciaran Beattie, who is joining the SRU as an assistant performance analyst.
Speaking about his role at Philiphaugh over the past eight months, and his imminent departure, Ciaran said: "I'm definitely disappointed to be leaving the club but quite honestly this was too good an opportunity to miss, and I hope everyone at the club understands that.
"After it was confirmed I wouldn't be able to play rugby again, coming back to Selkirk as the club's development officer was a great option for me, and it helped me get through a tough period of my enforced playing retirement. I have absolutely loved getting involved again at Philiphaugh. The club is really on the up, with everybody keen to help, and everyone fighting for the same cause. There's a great attitude at all levels, and I'm sure my successor will get every bit as much support as I've had."
Selkirk's director of rugby, Dennis Henderson, confirmed that to date three applications have been received for Ciaran's post, which is being advertised on the SRU website, and that funding for the three-year contract remains in place. The closing date for applications is this Sunday, with interviews expected to take place soon afterwards.
