Ladies: On a near-perfect night over The Hill on Monday, Diane (new putter) Cassidy returned a career-best score to lift the Jenny Cleghorn Salver.
Diane’s 73 (9) 64 was too good for the rest of the field and has given her a new handicap of 8.0.
In the bronze division, Lynne Robertson won the brooch with 95 (25) 70. The scratch was won by Martine Pow 68. There were four twos: Carol Purvis (one) and Martine Pow (three).
Juniors: Sean Nixon finally unleashed some of his potential, winning the Bill Ballantyne Trophy with a fine 68 (20) in windy conditions.
Runner-up spot went to young Christy Burrows with a 73 (54).
The BGA is looking for entries for the Under-16s Championships at Innerleithen Golf Club this Sunday, entry fee is £5 – see noticeboard.
Murray Cleghorn held a very successful coaching session at the club – so much so that the club has slotted in another for Monday, August 11, at 9.45am. The session will be open to any boy or girl member, or non-member, and is free. See club noticeboard for more details.

Holiday Golf: For the holiday fortnight, Selkirk GC has lots on for all the family: Tuesday, July 29 – Texas Scramble; Thursday, July 31 – 3-Club; Tuesday, August 5 – Texas Scramble; Thursday, August 7 – 3-Club, gents, ladies and juniors all welcome. And on Saturday, August 9, the club will host Mr & Mrs competition including golf, BBQ and disco. Members and non-members welcome 6.15pm start.
