Ettrick Forest Bowling Club launched a new tournament last Thursday in memory of former president and popular stalwart of the club, Robert McIntosh.
Twenty-four triples from across the Borders competed for the inaugural Robert McIntosh Memorial Shield, played on a round robin basis. After a long, but good day's bowling, the winners were John Pringle (skip), George Burgess and Jock Davies, who beat Pat Houston, Hazel Scott and Matty Smith in the final.

On Sunday, an excellent turnout of players enjoyed a great afternoon of bowls with the William McLean Mitchell Cup up for grabs. The winner was Betty Currie with Karen D'Agrosa runner-up.

The cup was presented by Agnes Mitchell who also provided food for participants.

The club would like to thank all those who helped make the two tournaments a success.
