Selkirk 4
St Boswells 3

In a closely-contested game, Selkirk started brightly with the midfield of Caitlin Cottrell, Mark Rutter and Rory Hamilton passing the ball well.

A corner from Hamilton was knocked home by Luke McGowan from close range to give Se
lkirk the lead.

However, confusion in the home defence allowed the St Boswells striker to equalise.

A diving save by keeper Josh Thomson stopped the Villagers taking the lead at the end of the first period.

Selkirk continued to play well in the second period with keeper Michael Moody making a great save before Alex Beveridge took the home side back into the lead. However, St Boswells immediately equalised.

The Souters came out fighting in the third period and goals from McGowan and Scott Learmond saw them go 4-2 up. St Boswells made it a finger-biting last five minutes when they scored again, but Selkirk held on for the win with a great stop by keeper Cottrell.

Selkirk: A. Beveridge, C. Cottrell, R. Hamilton, C. Hislop, R. Irvine, L. McGowan, S. Learmond, M. Moody, J. Norgate, M. Rutter, M. Stanners and J. Thomson.

Coldstream 1

Selkirk played well in the first and second periods, but neither side was able to score.

However, in the third period, they found the net, when newcomer Ryan Legge made a great run upfield to shoot the ball into the corner of the Coldstream net.

Just as Selkirk gained the upper hand, Coldstream went back upfield and the ball was deflected off the Selkirk keeper and into the net.

The scores stayed level until the final whistle, despite near misses from Legge and a ball off the crossbar from Smith.

Selkirk: D. Brown, C. Hislop, S. Learmond, R. Legge, M. Moody, C. Rogers, M. Rutter, S. Smith and J. Thomson.
