COMPETITION was hot on the Selkirk green last Friday and many bowlers were forced to take on extra liquid just to stay focussed.
The much-anticipated top-of-the-table duel between the Masons and the Merchants proved an eyecatcher, with the former edging it by four shots to keep them top. Table props, The Southern Reporter, stayed in contention for the booby prize with their worst defeat yet at the hands of the Tory Club.

There are no fixtures this weekend. See next week’s Wee Paper for fixtures for Friday, July 25. Results: Towns Arms 4 Ex Standard Bearers 15; Merchants 9 Masons 13; Southern 3 Tory Club 24; Fleece 17 Babychams 8.
