The Thursday night junior coaching sessions proved to be very popular during May and June with all courts filled from 6-8.30pm.
Club nights will carry on throughout the summer holidays with coaching starting up again once the school restarts.
Throughout May and June, Selkirk fielded teams in the U-12 boys, U-16 boys and U-16 girls leagues. All the players had a great time with the girls being the most successful, finishing as runners-up, while U-12 boys finished in the middle of their division. U-16 boys finished bottom off their division, but they are a very young team and showed lots of promise.

Men’s Division One
Selkirk’S number one squad has played some superb tennis recently to retain their status in the top local league.
They have had two great wins over Duns 1sts and Melrose 2nds in the last two weeks and will be playing premier league tennis next year.
Team: Alan Brown, Ranald Wilkie, Gavin Harkness, Campbell Dempster, Scott Lees and Greg Canning.
Ranald Wilkie has been selected to play for the South of Scotland at the National County Cup Championships in London in July and was voted player of the season by Braid Tennis Club, for whom he plays in the Edinburgh Leagues.
Ladies’ Division One
The ladies have turned round their season with a good win against Earlston last week, which should help secure premier league status for 2010.
Team: Helene Williamson, Glynis Wilkie, Lulu & Emily Watson, Margaret Bland and Lynsey McKinnon.
MEN’S B TEAM
Spare a thought for the famous Selkirk B team, by far the most popular of all the Borders tennis squads.
Without a win this year, they continue to make friends around the Border Leagues for their sportsmanship and good grace.
Squad: Martin Bird, David Howatson, Norman Roxburgh, Ian Wilkie & Alan Williamson.
