Last Saturday, the unseasonal weather continued but that didn't deter the good entry in the annual "B" open from returning some fine scores. The clear winners in this popular competition sponsored by Selkirk Glass were Craig Pritchard and Brian Muir with net 66's.
Other golfers blowing hot were Robin Murray and Ronnie Douglas on 68, with Jim McLean, Ian Scott and Greig Temple on 69. Last year's winner with a net 70 also figured in the prizes.
Following on from their successes over the Selkirk course on Sunday in a Border Ladies Tournament, Martine Pow, in particular, and Laura Howie, were both on form again on Monday, in the generously sponsored Bank of Scotland Trophy competition.
There were six twos, three of them hit by Martine!
Results: Silver: 1, Martine Pow (2) 66; 2, Mary Melrose (20) 76; Scratch, Mary Scott 84.
Bronze: 1, Laura Howie (23) 74; 2, Lesley Carruthers (32) 76.
Commiserations to the "Mail on Sunday" team of four, who were defeated in their sixth round tie through at Ranfurly Castle Golf Club, Bridge of Weir on Saturday.
