Gannicots win a lot

PODIUM places are becoming the norm for Selkirk mountain bike brothers George and Arran Gannicott.

And last weekend was no exception.

Riding in the third round of the NPS downhill series at Fort William 13-year-old George bettered his second place in the previous round by crossing the line 15 seconds faster than his nearest rival, Philip Atwill, to take pole position.

Older brother Arran, 16, was looking to make it a family double, but it wasn’t to be with Harry Heath taking the win, Arran taking second and Welshman Gareth Brewin in third.
