Howzat! Footballers are cricket champs!

A TEAM of footballers defeated a group of tennis players at a cricket match in Selkirk.

Confused? Well, you should have been at Philiphaugh on Sunday for Selkirk Cricket Club's six-a-side Factory Cup.

Six teams competed on a round-robin basis which resulted in Selkirk Football Club and Melrose Tennis Club reaching the final.

The footballers restricted their opponents to 36 runs from their six overs and then chased down the modest target to claim the spoils.
