Athletes getting set for starting gun…
LOCAL athletes are preparing to get on their marks for the Selkirk Common Riding Games which will be held at Philiphaugh on Saturday (1.30pm).
One of the biggest days on the Selkirk sporting calendar this year’s event has attracted a bumper entry from all over the Borders and with the Grand Gymkhana being held on the adjacent pitches (from 12.30pm) there is plenty on offer for local sports followers.
Jedburgh duo Greg Turnbull and Iskan Barskanmay are the back markers for the feature sprint which has an entry of 70 runners.
