SELKIRK GENTS

IN LAST weekend’s Christmas Crackers competition there was some brilliant golf played, the best of which came from Billy Macdonald whose round was made up of five fours and four threes for a score of nett 30.

He wins a handsome cash prize and an ugly slash to his handicap.

Results: 1, W. Macdonald nett 30; 2, J. Farrell 31; 3=, J. Coyle, S. Kemp, A. Brown 32.

Two’s: J. Coyle, S. Kemp, N. Roxburgh, P. Henderson and Hughie Macdonald, who made up for some horrible things written about his golf recently by striking a fine 7 iron to 6ft at the ninth hole and nonchalantly sinking the putt. Well, maybe, nonchalantly is overdoing it a bit.

This week’s sympathy goes to Gerald Beggs who finished with a 6 and a 5 which rather spoiled his 8,4, 10 start. AM
