Roxburgh burns it up

IN LAST weekend’s Winter Woollies competition, it was Norman Roxburgh – whose putting was described as poetry in motion, suggesting perhaps that he should be bard – who won by two shots from Alan Brown and John Coyle, whose sonsie faces were wreathed in smiles.

Results: 1, N. Roxburgh nett 31; 2 equal, A. Brown and J. Coyle 33.

Others not so well-versed in the art of golf included Andrew Webster, who finished off 3, 11, 3; and David Beveridge, who started with a 10 but then made amends with two twos.

His two at the sixth was 25 millimetres off being inch perfect.

Twos: D. Beveridge (2), N. Roxburgh (2) and A. Brown (1).
