SELKIRK shooters headed for cover last week as the start of the winter season got under way.

Rifle club members took part in the first of the winter indoor competitions – the Monthly Medal was won by Robert Beale, with Bill Vaughan taking possession of the Tinline cup.

In the juniors, Darren Brown, left, won the monthly medal with an excellent 99, and Peter Noble, right, won the MacDougall Cup with a personal best of 88.
