AFTER two awful rounds on Saturday, Tug Wilson pulled himself together with an awesome nine holes on Sunday, his nett 31 winning by two from the pursuing pack.
Results: 1, R. J. Wilson nett 31; 2=, J. S. Kemp, J. S. Rae and L. Rutherford 33.
Among those winning crackers for holing out in two, was that man Wilson again, with three of them over the weekend.
His chip in at the sixth hole was described as “fortuitous” by one of his partners. Or something like that. Probably the same word would describe Gerald Beggs’ 50ft putt at the same hole. Others to have a two were J. Coyle, P. Henderson and B. Macdonald.
This week’s sympathy goes to a golfer who cannot be named for legal reasons, who left the eighth green to the strains of Al Jolson. AM
