High School semi-final put on ice

THE eight Brewin Dolphin Scottish competition finals scheduled to take place this Saturday at Murrayfield have been cancelled.

With adverse weather conditions over the past week around the country, a number of semi-finals, including Selkirk High School’s tie with Williamswood in the Under-16 Bowl, have been postponed, and with the forecast not looking likely to improve soon, rescheduling has proved to be very difficult.

When the semi-finals are played, plans will be put in place for each individual final.

Scottish Rugby’s head of clubs and schools, Nick Rennie, said: “Unfortunately, the recent cold snap has delayed the semi-finals and this looks set to continue into next week.

“Schools have been proactive in arranging their fixtures, with considerable travel involved, but have had to postpone.

“We will look at options to rearrange the finals over the coming month.”
