Selkirk RFC appeal for help

SELKIRK RFC have put out a plea for help to clear their Philiphaugh pitch of snow on Saturday morning.

Still in with a chance of landing one of the top spots in the National League Selkirk are desperate to get their match against Watsonians played this weekend. But with several centimetres of snow currently lying on the pitch, and no signs of a thaw until the weekend, the club are appealing to locals to turn up, if possible with a snow shovel and/or a hard brush, at 9am on Saturday morning to help shift the white stuff.

Director of Rugby Dennis Henderson told The Wee Paper: “There’s no ifs and buts about it. We are going to clear that pitch.

“We would really appreciate any help we can get from players of all ages, supporters and people from the local community. With their help we can do this.”
