Three art and culture events are planned for The Haining next month, organised by the estate management.

They have put the programme together in conjunction with Craft Scotland, Crossing Borders and the Creative Arts Business Network.

The events will highlight the work of Scottish artists and makers, and will also focus on professional development in curating contemporary art projects.

The first is Meet your Maker, from August 8-11, highlighting the weaving skills of Julia Complin and Vicky Swales.

The second, on August 26, is aimed at curators, programmers, artists, community groups and organisations initiating and managing exhibition programmes.

The third event sees The Haining host the Crossing Borders Arts Trail, from August 29 to September 1, featuring the work of local artists.

Haining trustee Lawrence Robertson said: “We have developed this programme which is clearly fulfilling The Haining’s ambition to help and support the local community to develop as a centre for arts, education and culture, and are delighted to work with these three key organisations towards that goal.”
