Selkirk hairdresser Phemie Beattie has a flourishing second career as a model which will see her fly out to Malibu in America later this year.
For the 28-year-old recently scooped top spots in a national bikini competition.
Out of hundreds of entrants, the Souter placed in the top 20 of the UK Bikini Squad finals in Norwich.
The competition is run by model and actress Kerri Parker, who also runs The Kerri Parker Academy, the UK’s largest model training school, where Phemie has trained.
Phemie of Haining Park then came in the top 12 of bikini models who went forward to be a calendar girl and won ‘Miss May’.
Phemie said: “Later this year I have been given the opportunity to fly out to Hollywood in Los Angeles and take part in the world final going against American girls - and will also be shooting my Miss May title for a calendar in Malibu!”
Phemie and the rest of the UK Bikini Squad will compete against 12 American winners in the world ‘Model of the Year 2013 ‘.
The local hairdresser said: “As one of the winners I’ll be appearing at red carpet events with Kerri and enjoying shoots in Hollywood. “
She admitted too: “I had the lucky chance of going to Hollywood in March earlier this year to do photo shoots for the Kerri Parker Academy in a beautiful mansion in the Malibu hills and on Malibu beach.
“I also got lucky as Kerri’s guest to the Playboy Mansion Masquerade Ball where we spent the evening with (actor) Corey Feldman being Corey’s Angels, and taking in the amazing sites of the beautiful mansion.
“It was such an amazing experience spending time at the mansion, I’m still pinching myself!”
Phemie was 11th in Kerri Parker’s Model of the Year competition in the UK last year and she came second in the event’s sport and fitness contest.
